“My art style is based on expressionism…I try to represent emotions rather than reality. The message I’m trying to convey through my art is that there is more to life than just matter…I believe everything has an essence, and ever moving energy, and I try to make this visible in my work. Trying to represent the essence of things is what keeps me inspired. I like to give my paintings movement and flow, I use the golden spiral as an aesthetic guide in my paintings to create motion and depth and make all the elements come together as a whole. I work with acrylics and like to use bright intense colors in my palette, I also use different types of texture to build volume in my paintings.”
“Art is my passion, my means of expression, my language…through art I can express my view of the world and the connection I see in everything that surrounds us.”
Fany Mares was born in Mexico City. She started to paint at an early age, and has a major in Design from Universidad Nuevo Mundo in Mexico City.
